Introduction
The Brazilian soccer has been the best of the world in the last decades. That supremacy is due to the combination of the technical individuality, movement of the ball away from the pressure, mental speed and to the unpredictable condition to improvise in pressure situations especially at the offensive sector of the field.
Brazil has been the country with the most tactical variations in systems and tactical schemes showed in World Cups since 1970. Brazil is one of the few countries that apply tactical schemes with inside defenders and outside full backs building the attacks, diversification in the functions of the midfields always connecting the defensive to the offensive sector of the field.
Unfortunately these successful accomplishments have never been educationally and methodologically explained to the football (soccer) community.
There are very few publications on the tactics of the Brazilian Football (Soccer).
The software Futebol Made in Brazil – “The Tactical Principle” was developed to fulfill the lack of comprehension with a simple and easy variety of tools to understand the Brazilian Tactical concepts.
The software was edited by BFUT – Instituto Brasileiro de Futebol and INDEX Personalized Systems.

The Software is an extension of the book published by the same author: The Principles of the Brazilian Soccer by Thadeu Goncalves, President of BFUT, based on the six principles of the game : Planning, Behavior, Physical Conditioning, Technician, Tactical and Psychological . Thousands of professionals applied this philosophy around the World.
The Software Soccer Made in Brazil comes with a simple educational text accompanied by a series of diagrams and movements illustrating the perspective concepts being explained with a consistent terminology.
Objectives of the Tactics Software – Futebol Made in Brasil.
The "Futebol Made in Brazil" was created to establish a step by step of the Brazilian Methodology with a vertical integration of the principle of Tactics.
This program is the result of twenty years of research, analysis, elaboration and application of countless concepts with a pedagogic progression from the simple to the most complex.
All the concepts are integrated and applied to the specific age groups. From ages 12 (pre- puberty period – child is prepared to be exposed to emotional challenges and is more acceptable to work as a team) to 17 years old (boys and girls). The software is an educational tool that shows the how to, why to and when to apply each one of the tactical concepts.
The software is built with a consistent terminology to facilitate the communication between the educator (term applies to football professionals, former-players, physical education teachers or parent coaches) and their athletes.
This software was divided in three phases:
Each phase was prepared with a combination of texts accompanied by diagrams in consistent movements (animation), explaining and illustrating each one of the concepts.
Phase 1
- The important factors to be put in consideration when planning the tactical development of your team
- The history of the Brazilian tactical development from 1966 to 2002
It is extremely important for the educators to understand all the different Brazilian tactical variations of the game since 1970 and how those are still applicable today.

Phase 2 - Educational Development (application of the concepts)
In this phase the educator will have available a very comprehensive manual of the necessary tactical concepts to be implemented during the two years season planning for each category.
Category Mirim U13 (12 and 13 years old) - Application of the system 4-3-3
Category Infantile U15 (14 and 15 years old) - Application of the system 4-4-2 (diamond)
Category Juvenile U17 (16 and 17 years old) - Application of the system 3-5-2
The concepts can be applied to any ability level, with a very simple terminology, observing the evolution from the simple to the most complex information. The information comes in a text and the diagram shows the visualization of that situation.
We do recommend the theory instruction to be done for a few minutes before going into the practical application. The results and understanding of the concepts by the players will save you time and accelerate the efficiency of the session. The communication among coaching staff and players before, during, after training, and games will be much more consistent, facilitating the solutions to the possible problems.
Note: Many concepts can be applied to the category U20 and professional.
Phase 3 - Educational Planning
The educator will be able to review the tactical systems, tactical schemes and tactical strategies applied by the opponent team, or the variations that you would like to apply during the next game. You will have a three dimension (3-D) view of the field and the positioning of your players. You can create all the necessary patterns building from the back in a horizontal, diagonal and vertical view.
This phase of the software “Futebol made in Brasil” contains a very powerful tool to assist any educator (coach) to help in the day by day tactical sessions. It is the Tactical Intelligence. It allows the creation and editing of animated variations of systems, tactical schemes and the possibility to set plays for strategies on a field with electronic buttons, giving the animation the necessary movement of a specific play. We can compare the concept of an individual instant to a pass in a real game. You can create your tactical variations of play and the necessary transitions defining where the ball, the players and the exchange of passes should happen. |
